Numerous online retailers have realized the benefits of generating original editorial content -- among them: Net-a-Porter, Kirna Zabete, and Bluefly, all of whom have launched blogs, e-zines, and/or regular trend galleries featuring the products they stock. (After all, print is dying and someone has to step up to the plate.) And now Gilt Groupe is getting in on the action. The e-commerce site that has put countless competitors to shame is home to a newly launched blog. The virtual destination includes posts on Gilt Groupe launches, events, and wardrobe and style suggestions based on items that the site itself is hawking.

Take for example a post on Ralph Lauren accessories inspired by cowboys and the Wild West; as "you can't be a cowboy without roping a steer," the post likewise includes a "step-by-step guide to prepping your lasso." Also noted on the blog: Gilt's newly launched site for men. Titled the Gilt [MAN]ual, the site acts as a self-proclaimed "go-to spot for guys who want high-end gear." Like Gilt, the site showcases dude-friendly "gear and gadgets at up to 70% off." And just in time for Halloween. it looks as though the site will be hosting a pretty serious sale of Eyes Wide Shut-esque masks come Saturday.
