In case you're just tuning into the news today, the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II is a pretty big deal overseas right now. It's a multinational celebration that salutes the 60th anniversary of the Queen's reign. Yesterday was a Guinness World Record-breaking boat parade and today there's a rock concert in front of Buckingham Palace that's expected to feature Stevie Wonder, Paul McCartney, Sir Elton John, Sir Tom Jones, Will.i.am, Kylie Minogue, Jessie J and Annie Lennox. Fun, right? Amidst all this, self-proclaimed royal fanboy Karl Lagerfeld has taken it upon himself to tweet what he would like the Queen to wear today.
According to the Telegraph, the Chanel creative director took time out of his busy schedule that includes preparing for his next couture show and commentating coverage of the Jubilee on a French TV channel (really!), to illustrate his requested modifications to royal couturier Angela Kelly's designs for Her Majesty. His first obvious choice would be swapping her straight silhouette coat for a fluttery white cape because, translating this tweet to English, "it would have been prettier than her shawl." Here's what the Queen actually wore, which apparently took one year to make:

I'm with you, KL. This look definitely needs more ruffle action. I mean, it's 60 years! Doesn't she deserve to look like a floating wedding cake at this point?
