Call it the Lizzie Miller effect: ever since Glamour put a nude photo of the curvaceous blond model in their rag, magazines from across the fashion spectrum are outspokenly embracing larger body types ... at least when it comes to gorgeous mannequins. Following in the footsteps of Glamour's subsequent feature picturing not one but a dozen shapely females, V magazine is announcing that their January issue will be dedicated to plus-size models.

There's no denying that at first the choice screams of stunt editorial -- much in the same vein of Vogue Italia's "all-black" issue. That's not to say any steps taken toward embracing fuller-figured women in high-fashion should be taken for granted. "Big, little, pint-size, plus-size -- every body is beautiful. And this issue is out to prove it," V's editor Stephen Gan says of the upcoming issue. But in addition to the concern that the move is solely about the novelty of the trend and not about truly embracing a more well-rounded (literally and figuratively) take on the human form, the real question remains: will V be including plus-size male models as well?
