imageIt turns out the recession is no obstacle for Lindsay Lohan. More specifically, it’s proven irrelevant for sales of her Marilyn Monroe-inspired leggings line 6126 (the Mattel doll created in her likeness, has, unfortunately, suffered the opposite fate). “They’re blowing off the shelves,” a spokesperson for Hollywood shop Intuition told the Daily News, which is no small feat considering the leggings line ranges from $44 to $132.

While looks from the collection include leopard prints and zippered black tights, the top seller is none other than the Mr. President black leggings, which come equipped with gray, patched kneepads (and cost a cool $132). Considering the brand’s muse famously cavorted with JFK on Capital Hill, not to mention the actress-turned-fashion designer behind the brand has openly (if not obsessively) showed her support of America’s President-Elect, the moniker seems chock-full of salacious implications. In other words, perhaps "blowing off the shelves" was a poor turn of phrase.
