The internet has been a buzz for weeks over Lizzi Miller, the atypically Rubenesque mannequin who appeared nude in Glamour's September issue. Shot by Walter Chin in a light-filled room, there's nothing particularly shocking about the image in question. But Miller has spawned a cult-like following as a result. While Miller's by no means the first plus-size model to be featured in a high-fashion magazine or strike a chord with said magazine's readers, the success of her appearance in this particular issue of Glamour could end up as the catalyst for a newfound interest in a range of body sizes when it comes to the fashion industry.

According to the NY Post, "Glamour will feature a slew of large, nude models in the November issue. Miller, along with fellow full-figured femmes Kate Dillon, Jennie Runk, Amy Lemons, Crystal Renn, Ashley Graham and Anansa Sims, were photographed-- in the buff -- by Matthias Vriens Friday at Industria Superstudio on Washington Street." Whether the move will have much effect on the industry and its acceptance of varying shapes remains to be seen. Sadly, like the trend towards unretouched fashion images, it's entirely possible this could be a passing phase.
