This might be the best Monday pick-me-up, ever: WWD reports that the fast-fashion giants over at H&M have tapped iconic avant-garde label Maison Martin Margiela for their next designer collaboration. Cannot. Contain. Excitement.

Although H&M's spokeswoman refuses to "comment on rumors," the fashion trade journal's trusted "market sources" have confirmed the news, which is why the entire blogosphere is a-buzz. And given that the retailer has been veering toward a more fashion-forward approach to design, (their Sofia Coppola-approved capsule collection with Marni was a major hit and their upcoming accessories range with Anna Dello Russo is sure to sell out), we have no reason not to believe the hype.

As for the new capsule's designs, we're hoping to see some wearable spins on classic Margiela eccentricity, like a belted version of the above boxy tuxedo thing from the Belgian fashion house's spring 2011 collection. Or a watered-down verison of that hair coat from spring 2009—faux, of course.
