Mulberry has something else to add to their 40th anniversary tome. According to Bloomberg data, the British luxury goods brand is now the top global fashion retailer, backed by a 527-percent stock value increase in the last 12 months and quadrupled profits over the past two years. Somebody owes Alexa Chung a very large fruit basket.
"Investors are betting Mulberry, whose handbags include the Alexa, named after British model and television hostess Alexa Chung, and its Bayswater bag, available in a 'bright-cabbage sparkle tweed' at 775 pounds ($1,250), will join the likes of Burberry Group Plc (BRBY) as an iconic luxury brand," Bloomberg reports.
Given the widespread popularity of the Alexa, this might also one of the most successful celebrity-designer collaborations to date as well. We hope you're taking notes, Kanye.
