Despite the fact that Fashion Week will soon be officially leaving its longtime stomping grounds at Bryant Park (come September 2010), next season there will be numerous consistencies with this past season. First off, Milk Studios' playing host to younger designers' shows is here to stay. At least for the next four seasons, that is. "We’re committed to Milk for the next two years," Estée Lauder Group president John Demsey recently told The Cut. "He says that M.A.C. [the main sponsor at Milk] will also be at Lincoln Center -- but backstage, not as a sponsor," New York adds.
Also set to return to NYFW (and, by default, the world) in February, Vogue editor in chief Anna Wintour's brainchild: Fashion's Night Out. A press release from Wintour reads, "We were absolutely bowled over by the response to Fashion’s Night Out. It was only fifteen minutes after the event began and we were getting reports about lines around the block at stores throughout the city ... It was wonderful to see people embrace this initiative, and we are thrilled that they wish it to return." Here's to hoping that the second time around the massive undertaking will be less of a bust for the retailers whom the endeavor is actually supposed to benefit.
