'Designer collaborations' are everywhere: every major retailer does them (Macy's, J.C. Penney, Topshop, H&M, etc.) and many major fashion players do as well (Karl Lagerfeld to Stella McCartney). The arguable king of fashion collaborations in the past year, the little NYC boutique that could, Opening Ceremony, has amassed a roster of fashion partnerships that puts even Target to shame, working with Rodarte, Timberland, Pendleton, Keds, Tretorn, Robert Clergerie and actress Chloë Sevigny among others. Now Opening Ceremony will make Levis another notch on its collaborations bed post.
"The capsule range [which includes denim but is corduroy-centric] will be sold at Opening Ceremony stores, levi.com, the Levi’s flagship in San Francisco and a group of exclusive wholesale accounts around the world," says WWD. While 'sluts' may be a bit harsh--Opening Ceremony has been extremely careful to only engage in affairs that come appropriate protection, by way of cool points and cachet-- it's fair to say that the brand has a penchant for collaborative promiscuity.
