Target’s latest collaboration is right on trend with nostalgia chic (which currently seems to be pervading everything from fashion and hairstyles to illustration), as well as a renewed interest in 70s style. Following in the footsteps of Cynthia Rowley, the fashion partnership in question is with Orla Kiely. The latter is a brand best known producing for vintage-textile laden clothing, accessories, and, of course, home goods. And Orla Kiely’s line for Target is no different.
Apartment Therapy has a preview of the earth-toned, Partridge family-appropriate wares, which include everything from dishes and an apron to TV dinner trays. While the collection is without a doubt heavy on the kitsch (and stocking up on all its elements might make for a not-so-pretty 70s overdose), when taken in small bits the collection is definitely cute. It debuts in February, just one month before Alexander McQueen’s rock chic-inspired line likewise hits the retailer’s racks.
