During such hard economic times as these, it seems both smart and logical that many designers are branching out. For Zac Posen, it’s a diffusion line; meanwhile, Karl Lagerfeld has taken to creating titillating dishware. Now, renowned womenswear designer Phillip Lim is hopping aboard the bandwagon and launching an entirely new clothing line -- for dogs.
“The NY-based designer’s $150 cashmere dog sweaters, which come in gray, navy stripe and bubblegum and are sized extra small to large, are causing something of a mania among pet owners,” says Vogue UK. Inspired by Lim’s own pooch, Oliver, a French bulldog, the cashmere collection doesn’t come cheap. But, perhaps the guilt of purchasing luxury goods lessens when it’s for one’s pet. Regardless, if you’re feeling especially generous this Christmas, you can also treat your canine to the full four-legged-friendly gift set, which, in addition to a cashmere jumper, includes a leather collar and leash for a total of $375. At least there's no chance of your gift getting returned.
