Media mogul Dan Abrams' new fashion site Styleite has launched. The former legal analyst has outfitted the porthole with many of the same bells and whistles of its predecessor Mediaite. In addition to coverage of various shopping and fashion stories -- Gisele Bündchen on the cover of Vogue's shape issue and a piece on Skeezy guy syndrome (Olivier and Terry, are you listening?) for instance -- there is one aspect sure to get the fashion crowd talking. Meet the Power Grid, a breakdown of fashion's most influential figureheads, from editors and models to fashion bloggers and designers.
In total there are ten categories rated in the grid. Naomi Campbell is ranked as the most powerful supermodel, with Gisele coming in second, which is sure to spark a bit of controversy. Also, is Agyness Deyn really more of a force sartorially speaking than Kate Moss (the former is ranked #3, while the latter comes in just behind)? I'd say not. Garance Doré also beats out boyfriend Scott Schuman for the seat of most powerful style blogger by two spots, which likewise seems especially surprising. One thing is for sure: all in all the grid is bound to raise quite a few eyebrows and/or unsheath claws.
