Who doesn’t love a fashion line with a social conscience? Especially when the collection in question is one worth coveting even without the activist element. Take Super Fertile's new line of eye-catching jewelry, "Hunger," for instance. The Brit-based accessories brand is the brainchild of Kali Arulpragasam, who for those unfamiliar is M.I.A.’s elder sis (note: the line’s moniker was conceived long before the musician’s recent impregnation).
For Hunger, Arulpragasam has crafted a slew of ornate accessories that range from breastplate-like necklaces and beaded sashes to simple gold and silver chain necklaces ornamented with charms (all of which are inspired by African jewelry). And 7% of proceeds from the collections’ sales will benefit Oxfam Global Food Crisis, a facet of the humanitarian organization geared at combating the food price disaster affecting countless communities around the world. Just in case you needed any more reason to stock up on any of these transformative pieces.
