Men's suits don't typically connote high art, but that's the case of an exhibition currently on view at London's Terrace Rooms, Seamen’s Hall, and Somerset House. Spearheaded by British Esquire, the exhibition features the fruits of pairings of 18 fashion designers and tailors and "a major artist of their choice," says We Are The Market. Partners in crime include Aquascutum and Antony Gormley, Norton & Sons, Turner Prize-winner Jeremy Deller and Donatella Versace, and light artist-cum-designer James Clar.
Also included in the mix: "a leather mustard-colored suit with tattoo-style markings of supermodels’ names on the sleeve" that was conceived by designer Henry Holland and celebrity tattoo artist (and Marc Jacobs' main man for ink) Scott Campbell. Needless to say, this isn't your typical melding of fashion and art. The exhibition runs thru August 31, but those who can't make it across the pond can score a peek via the September issue of Esquire UK, which hits newsstands August 6.
