Apparently the men of New York do. The Post profiles a budding trend: hipster boys donning upper thigh-grazing shorts. "Man-thigh, in all its milky white glory, has emerged triumphant this summer after decades of hiding under the ample folds of cargo shorts," says the paper. This trend, however, is nothing new.
For anyone who has paid attention to fashion after the birth of American Apparel can attest to the fact that for years now, come summertime, a contingent of Brooklyners and downtown dudes can be seen strutting NYC sidewalks in shorts that pre-1988 NBA stars would fully endorse. But as the Post's piece points out via slideshow, the range in age and zip code of men contributing to the trend varies quite a bit -- from a 33-year-old in Washington Heights to a 26-year-old in Williamsburg. Meaning short shorts for men is no longer a trend relegated to skinny hipsters ... if you've got the gall and a pair of scissors, "milky white glory" can be yours.
