A list of high-end fashion designers who’ve done diffusion lines could easily go on for days. But that doesn’t make the latest addition to the roster any less exciting. Zac Posen has announced he’ll debut a less-expensive line in the near future. That is, once he finishes work on his fragrance, currently in development with Fabien Baron.

And according to Fashion Week Daily, Posen will eventually lend his name to “several lower-priced lines.” Unfortunately, no specifics have been released with regard to where the collections will retail. Regardless, the evolution seems like a smart one for Posen -- parlaying his established high-fashion name into a wider market appeal is a good idea in the current economic climate.
