The uptown counterpart to its Madison Square Park location, A Voce Columbus serves rustic and simple Italian cuisine in a modernist, sculpture-esque way that looks almost too good to eat- but you do anyway. The plain and round black tables are flanked by swivel chairs reminiscent of your latest cringe-inducing conference meeting. Out of a kitchen helmed by Chicago Spiaggia's former chef Missy Robbins, parades pancetta, hand-crafted pastas, branzino, hanger steak, and an assortment of other fish and farm delights. But don't forget: A Voce is an enterprise, a branch from the luxury MARC restaurant group which owns several other dining establishments across the globe. What it lacks in soul, it attempts to make up for with fresh pasta, with lackluster results.
