Much like its sister bar Clink, just upstairs in the Liberty Hotel, Alibi plays on the building’s old history as a jailhouse. Iron grates on windows and doorways and images of celebrity mug shots on the walls really bring the gimmick home. Unlike Clink, Alibi is more straight up lounge, with rows of low, small tables and luxe leather couches around the walls. If you must eat, small bites like the truffled polenta fries should do the trick. Although in this slinky black dress crowd (peppered with sore thumb traveling business dudes) you might be better off sticking to the cocktail list. Surprisingly, it has a jail theme too. Wait was this place a jail? I haven't been reminded for five seconds. The Walk of Shame (Veev acai spirit, honey, sage and cucumber topped with soda) is worth doing time with.
