American Sardine Bar

Editorial Review

After overhauling a Point Breeze eyesore—the Wander Inn—for over a year's time, South Philly Tap Room's owner John Longacre and chef Scott Schroeder unveil their second 'hood haunt: a classic-styled bi-level bar boasting simple, locally-sourced sandwiches and a sixteen-deep craft draft lineup. Schroeder's namesake 'wich alone is worth the trip to Federal Street, layered with chopped, canned Spanish sardines and pickled eggs. Expect the chef to continue his cheeky combinations, including salt and pepper fries sided with pickle dip and a Frosted Flakes-crusted peanut butter and jelly sandwich.
