Living in the lap of luxury might be a little awkard next to some homeless vets (New England's center is next door) but hey, screw it. This is it. The new AMES Hotel has the faddish mix of classic style and modern sophistication. Located in the historic and stately Ames building, when architecture used to have some purpose, this 114-room gem is into providing guests with a lavish stay. Exec. chef Mark Goldberg brings his dynamic Woodward resto and bar onto the scene, with a state-of-the-art fitness center on the premises to burn away last night's cals.
