Shanghai » Hotel » Xintiandi/Huaihai Road » Mid-range
In keeping with the Andaz brand's established aesthetic inclinations, you won't find any glittering chandeliers here. Instead, the hotel's strikingly modern, latticed exterior-- said to be inspired by the iconic Tang Lady of the Tang Dynasty-- is enhanced with a very 21st-century, multicolored LED lighting system, which reacts to guests' use of blackout shades. Its 262 rooms and 45 suites are distinctly contemporary, done up with sexy reds, whites, and blacks. As much as Shanghai has become a nerve center of freewheeling high finance, the Andaz is expecting its guests to get in lots of play time. There will be two restaurants, a bar, a spa, a pool, and rooftop lounge. Located in the buzzing and trendy Xintiandi complex, it will undoubtedly be Shanghai's new magnet for the style-conscious.
