The restaurateur brave enough to occupy this space after Conduit closed faced a unique challenge - how to incorporate the original Stanley Saitowitz design elements into a new look and feel. Aom Phanthong did just that, refreshing the original minimalist design with warmth and humor, including Buddha statues and a kooky monkey sculpture. But you're there for the food, arguably the best Thai outside of the Tenderloin, including a robust Massaman curry, savory/sweet short ribs, red curry Sonoma duck and a top notch seared pork medallion in Thai whiskey sauce. House soundtrack gets a little repetitive, otherwise the atmosphere has a good energy. Best cocktail: Monkey Cup.
