Editorial Review

Quirky underground cafe near the Tretyakov Gallery. Designed by the artist/architect Sasha Brodsky, the decor is a delightful mix of brooding drabbiness and whimsy, reminiscent of an old Soviet seaside haven frequented by the cool kids way back in the day. Glowing lanterns, little tables, jagged concrete walls. Perennial Russian dishes and lots of vodka. A favorite hangout of local artists. Evenings bring readings, concerts, and anything else that's on the fringe.
