A major remodel was supposed to have improved this storied theater. It did. The upper deck makes for increased capacity. The crowd is more heterogeneous. And bands big enough that your mom's heard of them play more frequently. But the remodel also ruined it. Drink prices went up. The sound is inexplicably uneven. And free street parking has become so competitive that paid garage parking should be factored into the evening's equation.
