The lounge exudes an odd sort of earnest chicness, as if Haru showed up at your uncle's country house and wanted to be unassuming but couldn't help but show a little leg. Sake-tinis and watermelon drinks garnished with actual huge hunks of watermelon set the tone and keep it in a place where such concontions can be comfortably imbibed amid swaying stalks of bamboo with a little light club music thrown in. The sushi serves its purpose admirably, especially on Thursdays when the place fills for a complimentary sushi happy hour, and big and small plates provide dining options surely apreciated by those who cannot stand to look at one more Hamptons standard-issue roast chicken dinners.
