This self-described "guerrilla pop-up bar" in a former auto shop building in Oak Cliff has possibly the best vibe of any place that's opened in recent memory. Its no-frills setting allows for only a lot of candles and some projected images as decoration, but the openness, high ceiling and less-is-more vibe is pretty refreshing in such a flashy city. With just a DJ setup, a bar and a bunch of tables, there's not a lot to see, but the mostly in-the-know locals make for a decent crowd to check out under pleasant lighting. The drinks are top notch, coming courtesy of Cedars Social's Michael Martensen, who has gained popularity for his great drink creations elsewhere. The only downside is that it won't be open for long. There's no set date, but it'll all be over soon, sadly. Hit the ATM first, though, as the bar is cash only - and watch out for the great food trucks looming nearby on your way out.
