Off-side bohemian gem inspired by Rio de Janeiro’s back-in-the-day bars raises the nostalgia level up a notch, with found 1950s marble countertop brought over from Philly to white tiled walls, hallmark vertically hanging halogen lights and shiny mirrors artfully decaled with the fresh-juices menu in classic font. An older liberal crowd with taste and money orders oysters and filet mignon in obvious glee; happiness apparently also comes in the spicy meatballs and draft beer. Party room downstairs keeps wild clientele away from the civilized ones but is a hotspot if you can reserve it. When it’s hot outside and they open the windows to full, you can almost imagine the beach is a block away.
