It's worth every minute of getting lost to find low-key Bar do Museu, hidden on the second floor of an office building with I.D. required for entrance. Dark, authentically old-time bar was once a classy, members-only watering hole for the Association of Friends of the Museum of Modern Art. Today it's a separate entity but maintains the spirit of those carefree days from lush, den-like atmosphere to poor-man's drink prices—caipirinhas go for R$4. Show up between 4 and 9 p.m. but stay as late as the drinks let you.
