Designed by a former Seattle city planner, Bardessono was built with the environment in mind, quite literally from the ground up. The underground geothermal reserve takes advantage of a shallow water plain to heat and cool the rooms, while the rooftop solar panels do their part to make the property truly a sanctuary -- lessening the reliance on off-property-generated energy by more than half. Phew. Now you can relax and enjoy the other amenities that each of the 62 spacious suites offer. Like plenty of natural light, a private courtyard, organic bedding, and in-room spa treatments. Should you choose to leave your room, the complimentary carbon-frame bicycles provide the perfect transportation with which to visit the many nearby wineries; the hotel’s own restaurant serves seasonally inspired meals all day (pulling ingredients from the on-site garden) and the rooftop pool is a great place to soak up some of that Napa Valley sun.
