Rustic French with splash of ostenation makes for the buzziest opening in Seattle: big, beautiful resto serving classic French fare with all the fixings. Design fetishes get fed, too: lavish, chandelier-lit bar (complete with oil portraits) and main dining hall (with zinc bartops and massive iron light fixtures) compete for attention. Menu's typical brasserie fare: salad lyonnaise with Frisée, crisp bacon, poached egg and Dijon Vinaigrette ($11) or steak frites ($18); late-night happy hour also rocks decent grub for under $8. For a communal-feeling, scenic dining experience, check out the rooftop garden or the extensive side deck. Cafe Presse fans will feel most at home here, although service is still being tweaked and, unlike at Presse, you can't order a feast for under $20. But for decor alone, Bastille is worth a trip.
