BlackBook Lowdown

TEMPORARILY CLOSED. A-list Parisian makeover of a longstanding Village Italian joint. André of très chic Le Baron and Paris Paris joins forces with Yankee DJ Paul Sevigny (yes, Chloe's brother). Dim, low ceilings, slightly musty, but brings a high-end crowd through a tight door. Small, solid menu with smattering of Italian dishes for lost regulars from the previous incarnation. Decked with vintage furniture, subterranean ex-speakeasy space sure to come in handy should Prohibition make a comeback.

This place is adorable, mysterious, fun, small, exclusive but not horribly uptight or snooty. The drinks are good, the music is a great mix of old and new and it sort of feels like you're at someone's really nice apartment having some drinks and relaxing. Great space and nice vibe.
