Art Deco institution from way back, down the street from the UN. Old-school style caters to all kinds, and all kinds come. Tiny lobby more than made up for with large rooms (for a New York hotel). Decent (but still not perfect) fit for the price. Full set of amenities befitting a classy joint. Lovely, date-friendly 360-degree views from solid hotel restaurant Top of the Tower. Views may be only of NYC, but entire planet is represented in the dining room.
