Country hideaway shares namesake with its New York sister. Cine-philes play trivia surrounded by '30s and '40s French movie posters on the walls, while antique hounds make notes to go find similar antique light fixtures, frames, vases or the Art Deco wrought-iron gates at the next Benedito Calixto fair. Wood panels, flooring and furniture (from Tiradentes) keep the charm strictly pastoral. French contemporary cuisine is adapted to local taste buds, like salmon encrusted with Para nut and tuna served with pureed plaintains.
