I spent the past Saturday night at this place. It was love. Something about the Blue Owl pleased me. Maybe it was the atmosphere (an actual mature crowd in the EV) or perhaps it was that dangerously divine lemon and ginger concontion I kept downing (and the bartender kept promptly refilling!). Whatever it was, it had the right effect. A new fave for sure. Nearly impossible to find a place with a great vibe and the products to match in nyc these days. But Blue Owl seems to have both.
I am definitely glad I found the Blue Owl. It has good cocktails and late hours, which is just my style. When I’m still brain scattered from waiting tables, I just wander over from Union Square and the Blue Owl is open and usually hopping – and I never, never get up before noon. If it’s just mellow, the music is still good to listen to. There’s good music there regardless if my restaurant buddies don’t wanna come unwind. So glad it’s open, posh, mellow, relaxed, and friendly.
The Blue Owl is a comfortable lounge for having a few drinks. It's obvious to say, but how often in a New York bar are you truly comfortable drinking, and comfortable with the person next to you? This lounge is mixed and casual, with all kinds of music and good management. It's really comfortable.
