Forget thoughts of haggis. This is new Scottish cuisine, with dishes like carpaccio of smoked salmon. Spread over two floors of an imposing Regency building, with outdoor seating, too. The cosy Black Bar stocks top-shelf whisky and an exceptional Cuban cigar humidor. The Boisdale Blue Rhythm Band performs live jazz every evening. Private dining available, but you have to ask eccentric owner Ranald Macdonald first.
