Technically in South Miami, but close to the Gables, which doesn't offer enough nightlife choices anyway. This 1929-era rustic Florida tavern is best enjoyed on quieter nights when the Latin meatheads from Kendall or the rowdy University of Miami frat set don't jam-pack the small venue and pursue their tenuous mating game. If there isn't a live band playing, you can always go outside and nurse that stiff whiskey in peace. And if you haven't had dinner beforehand, we suggest asking the waitress for a basket of their surprisingly delicious popcorn.
