This casually cool Bread Street Kitchen is a laid-back counterpoint to Gordon’s more haute restos. Its charms are not unlike those of the Wolseley, with dramatic interiors effortlessly mating the old and the new (expose brick, industrial fixtures, school classroom chairs, black-and-white tiled floors). The menu keeps it pretty simple: think Grilled Longford Estate trout, Herdwick mutton and short rib burgers. Not quite Heaven or Hell’s kitchen…but a perfectly fine alternative to both.
