The man might not have won Top Chef, but Howie "Bulldog" Kleinberg knows his way around the grill. Baby back ribs, pork, brisket, steak, and even chicken and shrimp are braised in the chef's special smoke/vinegar concoction and slow-roasted in an open kitchen for all to see. Comfort foods like white chili, rock shrimp and oyster Po' Boy, corn puddin', and desserts like root bear floats, cobbler, and s'more pie round out the menu. All this down-home good cooking in an open, cozy long, narrow space of exposed brick that will make you forget the restaurant is actually in a strip mall. Miami rolls like that.
