Nothing really under $10 at this respectable burger joint, aside from a few overdressed bar menu selections (a burger with pork belly on it? Really?). So close to the bottom of Manhattan you can feel the mist off the river. Crowd is largely lunch-breakers and FiDi residents, place is near empty on the weekends, which it shouldn't be. Touring the area with the fam? Avoid the pier's overpriced, homogenized mall junk, hit this place, armed with salvaged Philly diner décor for devotedly retro feel. Once got a little press for $175 Kobe beef burger, coming correct with truffles, aged gruyere, and gold shavings. Naturally, now serving the Sub-Prime Meltdown: patty with swiss, sautéed mushrooms, and caramelized onions. $7.50. Order it just to tell people you have the financial crisis under control. Seriously.
