Calo Ristorante

Like much of its clientele, Calo's Ristorante has been in Chicago longer than zoned parking. And like neighboring standouts Reza’s (Middle Eastern) and Andie’s (Mediterranean), Calo’s does just one thing (Italian), never deviating from the classic Chicago tradition of overwhelming portions with extra cheese. Going here is something like eating dinner inside a Polaroid decorated with dark wood and darker lighting, where ‘70s-fashionable oldsters drink a few boxcars before dinner and anyone under 35 feels like they should be sitting on a phone book and ordering a Shirley Temple. In other words, awesome.
