Most locals have no idea how it got here, but Capriotti's came to Vegas sometime in the 80's or 90's from Delaware, where the chain is based. One location on Sahara - right off the Strip - turned into 20, as hungry locals went after these East Coast-bred bread monsters with a fever. Can't speak for any of the other stores, but this one's the original, and their menu - while basic - stays the same. Huge rolls, huge toppings, all fresh. Signature sandwich is The "Bobbie" - Homemade Turkey, Cranberry Sauce, Stuffing, and Mayo - which you can order on anything from a 9" to 20" roll. Not exactly refreshing on a hot summer day, but in the colder months, a 20" will feed you for a week, and stays good in the fridge. Hours aren't typical 24/7 Vegas, so hit it during the day. Locations around the valley, check the 'site for deets.
