Famed Chicago chef, Charlie Trotter, opened this shop in 2000 in the hopes that it would become a simple extension of the already culinary-focused neighborhood. Prepared foods are the staple here: spit-roasted meats, seafood, slow-braised meats and an assortment of pasta and grain salads. The wine section is accompanied by a coding system, making it easy for shoppers to pair the perfect varietal with their culinary purchases. A fromage case and healthy retail outlet featuring cookbooks, fancy canned goods and hard to find spices round out the space and truly do attract the locals.
