Chesterfield

Sofa is dead. Long live Chesterfield. After more than 10 years as a neighbourhood pick-up joint, that old Sofa had gotten a tad shabby. Now it's been refurbished, redesigned and reborn as Chesterfield. Slightly older, way more sophisticated, with just a dash of sleaze. Afterwork on Thursdays the 5 à 7 crowd gets hot n' heavy, scarfing free hors d'oeuvres like grilled chorizo and chugging wine by the glass. It's a monocramatic sea of black shirts and jeans, black skirts and heels set against grey walls hung with b & w photos from the 19th century. With a winelist this long, more sustenance may be in order. Slide into a black banquette to dine on grilled bavette with shallots or squid, shrimp and octopus salad.
