Chicago Diner

Editorial Review

The slogan of this Boystown staple is meat-free '83, and they mean it. Famous for their soy, vegan, organic and veggie-friendly items -- from tofu scramble to seitan Reubens. Desserts are sweetened with organic raw sugar, maple syrup and vegan cream cheese, and specialty vegan wedding cakes will please the diehard hippy bride. The vegan Thanksgiving dinner is a favorite among the turkey-averse. You won't miss the dairy in the peanut butter-cookie dough soy shake.
