This was once the firehouse serving the prosperous Prairie Avenue community that included the Marshall Fields, McCormicks and Palmers. Much of it has been left intact (including the fire pole!), but they've updated the main dining room, bar area and upstairs private dining areas with hard wood accents. They're keeping it simple with classic American dishes. The bar area keeps busy, especially during football season. Too bad they won't let you slide down the pole.
