Just beyond the hoity-toity stretch of Westmount on Sherbrooke Street is a chill resto-lounge packed with well-coiffed thirty-somethings looking for love, cocktails and, of course, portabello topped burgers. Co-owner Aaron David Fraser and executive chef Bevan Lee have gotten funky with the menu, adding treats like osso bucco and tandoori salmon with mango and cracked chili sauce. The hockey game's always on behind the bar, with the volume off so the cute bartender can play DJ. Tunes by Arcade Fire, Rufus Wainwright and Chromeo swirl around the candlelit booths in crimson and mahogany. Tableaux by local artists add colour to the walls. A tad artsy-fartsy and totally unpretentious.
