L’Impero 2.0. Modernized with silver seatbacks, crimson banquettes, glossy surfaces. Clean and elegant, vies for best Southern Italian in the city. Chef Michael White works up daily menu, excels with small plates and pasta. Pork shoulder ragu, semolina-dusted mullet, mozzarella with sliced figs and rosemary oil.  Celebrate hump day with lemon-braised goat. Tudor City locale means diplomats and older folk aplenty, although food is impressive enough to bring the adventurous from further afield.
