Corks

I'm happy to see Corks re-open in a new style!! I loved going there before but it was strictly a "special occassion" restaurant due to the prices. Now, owner Jerry Pellegrino has taken things to a more economic driven level. The menu, though still offering the higher dollar fare that was offered in the past...has now expanded his menu to include much more affordable items! They now open their doors at 11:30am Monday through Saturday and serve food through until 1:30am! They have Sunday brunch starting at 10am and serve food til 10pm (with the bar open til midnight on Sundays). I wouldn't so much call it a "romantic" restaurant anymore but it certainly qualifies for a date spot or a great place to go with friends for dinner and wines. They still focus on small vineyards predominantly in the US but also in South American now too. They have a FANTASTIC cheese selection and a helpful staff that will guide you through things if you're unsure. I would say that the average price of an entree is now in the $$ range rather than $$$ range and I highly recommend checking it out. They recently started offering "Steak Night" on Tuesdays...the 5 cuts of steak that they always offer are HALF OFF on Tuesday nights along with a selection of great cabernets/bold red wines to accompany the meats.
