Former Wolfgang Puck protege David McIntyre chose S. D. for the first spot of his own, bringing ex-Spago chef Mette Williams with him. McIntyre's maple leaf roasted duck with Medjool dates is one of the best dishes in San Diego. Bouchet mussels with saffron beurre blanc and Spanish chorizo is no slouch either.
