With couches to the left, dance floor to the right, indoor stage and outdoor patio in the back, and giant bar in the middle, Darkroom can afford to be schizophrenic. There are displays of photography, burlesque shows, and guest DJ sets in equal measure. How this panoply doesn't become hopelessly lame is anyone's guess, but it somehow works, with red-and-black decor, curtains and lots of space keeping things mellow even during packed rock shows.
